Splash Dash shortlisted for national award

The teams at Claire House Children’s Hospice have been celebrating this week after the charity’s flagship event was shortlisted for a national award.

The Institute of Fundraising, the leading national body for fundraising in the UK, has shortlisted the Claire House Splash Dash for Best Business Charity Partnership at its annual awards ceremony thanks to the huge success of the event and its sponsorship by Liverpool ONE.

The event has been shortlisted along with two other charities and winners will be announced on Monday, July 7 at an event in London.

Kirsty Simpson, Events and Sponsorship Manager at Claire House Children’s Hospice, said: “As if forging such a successful relationship with Liverpool ONE wasn’t enough, to have that partnership recognised at the highest level is truly remarkable.

“We’re delighted to have been shortlisted and its thanks not only to our colleagues at Liverpool ONE for their support, but also the support of everyone who took part in the Splash Dash and made it such a huge success!”

The Claire House Splash Dash took place last September in Sefton Park, with 1,500 people racing 5km around the beauty spot, being pelted with powdered paint. The event raised £50,000 for Claire House Children’s Hospice.

Chris Bliss, Estate Director at Liverpool ONE, said: “We are absolutely delighted to learn that Splash Dash has been shortlisted for the Best Business Charity Partnership award.

“Splash Dash is a really inspiring event and we are honoured to be part of it and the great work that Claire House Children’s Hospice does.”

The Claire House Splash Dash will return in 2014 on Saturday, September 27. Registration is now open, with entry from £7.50. To enter, visit www.splashdash.org.uk
